All around are things to do, places to see
in this year-round playground in Michigan's scenic Upper
Peninsula! Each
season has a distinct personality ... what remains the same is the friendliness
of the local people, a diversity of recreational opportunities and the
compelling beauty of the county's major attraction, Tahquamenon Falls.
Located in the heart of Tahquamenon Falls State Park, the falls
are one of the largest east of the Mississippi. The Upper
Falls has a drop of nearly 50 feet, is over 200 feet across, and
can propel a maximum flow of more than 50,000 gallons of water a
second over the edge. Reach the falls by car or enjoy a
leisurely boat trip down the river. The Lower Falls, located
four miles downstream, is a smaller, cascading waterfall. It
can be viewed from the river or from an island that is accessible
by rowboat.

Lighthouse, Mackinac Island and the Seney Wildlife Refuge.
Winter's more than 200 inches of snow annually and hundreds of miles of
groomed snowmobile trails and scenic cross-country trails lure hearty visitors from far away.
Blanketed in ice and snow, Tahquamenon Falls has a picturesque fairy-tale
quality.
