Start planning your vacation in the Manistique area and Schoolcraft County, where adventure awaits in any season.

Springtime is fishing time, as the legendary Manistique River steelhead make their run.  However, there are hundreds of inland lakes, rivers, and streams to test, as well as incredible charter fishing on Lake Michigan.  Springtime is an excellent time to watch the migrations at the 96,000-acre, world-renowned Seney Wildlife Refuge, too.

Experience Seney throughout the spring and summer by car, on foot, by mountain bike, and others.

Summer is perfect for canoeing the Manistique or boating on Lake Michigan or Indian Lake.  Access points are plentiful, as are beaches, if you'd rather just wade or swim.

If history is your thing, look to Seul Choix Lighthouse and Maritime Museum or the Fayette Historic Townsite.  Just short drives from Manistique, they offer much to entertain and educate.

Manistique's famous "Believe It or Not" Siphon Bridge or the timeless restored spring, Kitch-iti-Kipi, whose intriguing waters shrouded in Native American lore are just north.

Fall showers the landscape in the most breathtaking colors imaginable.  Explore thousands of acres of State and National Forests.  Take some of the most extensive off-road vehicle trails in the state or try hunting.

In winter, snowmobilers enjoy over 300 miles of trails in the county and connections to every part of the U.P.  Ice fish on hundreds of lakes or cross-country ski dozens of different trail systems from Indian Lake State Parks to the Hiawatha National Forest.  With an average of over 150 inches of snow each year, Schoolcraft County is ready for the winter enthusiast.
