Twilight Turtle Trek

Location: Fort Mackinac, Mackinac Island
Mackinac Island Turtle Trek - A lantern-lit ski and snowshoeing trek through some of Mackinac Island's natural winter wonderland. The trail begins at Greaney Grove (corner of Arch Rock Road and Huron Road) with a bonfire and hot chocolate. The trail is groomed, track set, lit by lanterns and approximately two miles long. This is a free event sponsored by Mackinac State Historic Parks, Mackinac Island Community Foundation and the Mackinac Island Ski Club.

Tahquamenon Falls State Park - Lantern-lit Ski and Stroll

Enjoy an evening ski or snowshoe along a lantern-lit trail through the snow covered forests of the Upper Falls. Warm up by the bonfire with refreshments between laps along the one-mile loop. A limited number of snowshoes are available to borrow at no charge. Participants must provide their own cross country ski equipment. A headlamp or flashlight is recommended. Trail begins at the Upper Falls Fact Shack.

Straits State Park - Winter Family Fun Day

Don't miss out on Straits State Park's Winter Family Fun Day. Enjoy an afternoon of wintry games and snow activities, and don't miss out on the self-guided lantern-lit snowshoe hike along the park trail. There will be warming fires on each end of the trail. Complimentary hot chocolate and s'mores will be served. A limited supply of snowshoes and sleds will be available to borrow. Parking is located at parking area near the park entrance. If there is a lack of snow, the event will still proceed along the hiking trail to the lake. For more information, please call the park. 2018 Connor Gorsuch Kids Fishing Day

Come out to bask in the sunshine and have a competition with the fish! Kids sixteen and under can enjoy a free day of fishing at the kids' fishing pond at Rotary Park. Some fishing equipment will be available, but you are encouraged to bring your own. There will be no use of lures, only hooks and bobbers.
