Erickson Center for the Arts 4th Annual Student Art Show

The Erickson Center for the Arts 4th Annual Student Art Show will be held February 5th through March 30th . This showcase contains a large variety of artwork provided by students of all ages from Tahquamenon Area Schools, Three Lakes Academy, Engadine Consolidated Schools, and local home-schooling programs. The purpose of this exhibit is to demonstrate how essential art is as a part of a child’s education. Patrons of the show will be given a chance to vote for the “People’s Choice Award” presented to one student from each of the schools at the end of the exhibit. The Student Art Show can be seen during regular business hours, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and is free to the public

22nd Annual Antiques on the Bay Classic & Antique Car Show

43rd Annual Pictured Rocks Road Race

The 43rd Annual Pictured Rocks Road Race will be held Sunday June 24, 2018 in the picturesque town of Munising, Michigan, the gateway to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The race features a 1/2 marathon and 10k route that travel along a combination of paved roads and two-track trails. The race starts and ends in the heart of Munising at Bay Shore Park on the southern shores of Lake Superior. From the start you head west out of town on the road towards Tourist Park Campground, at which point you head south onto a two-track road that brings you up onto the hill that overlooks the west side of town. The 10k route cuts back down the hill towards town and Bay Shore Park while the 1/2 marathon continues atop the hill weaving through the surrounding forest until returning back to town down St. Martin's Hill. The 1/2 Marathon course continues across town to Cemetery Hill and tours through the east end of Munising until returning to Bay Shore Park.

61st Annual Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk

Location: Mackinac Bridge
Join thousands of walkers and make the five-mile trek across the Mighty Mackinac Bridge! This annual trek occurs on Labor Day, the only day of the year pedestrians are allowed on the bridge. Walkers begin in St. Ignace at the north end of the Bridge and walk south. The walk is one-way, and bus transportation is available to return you to St. Ignace until 2:30 p.m. The walk begins at 7:00 a.m. No one will be permitted to start walking after 11:00 a.m.





To alleviate some of the parking congestion at the Bridge View Park area, the Mackinac Bridge Authority, in cooperation with the St. Ignace Chamber of Commerce, is providing FREE shuttle service from Little Bear East Arena, 275 Marquette Street in St. Ignace, to the bridge walk start line. Shuttles will make continuous circuits from Little Bear East Arena to the Bridge View Park and back between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. For more information visit www.stignace.com

Tahquamenon Wilderness Canoe Race

The GREAT RACE from the Lower Falls to Lake Superior; Start the morning with this 17 1/2 mile, two-person professional canoe race as the paddlers brave the waters of the Tahquamenon River from the Lower Tahquamenon Falls to Lake Superior. A shorter (6 1/2 mile) one-person race begins at 3:30 at the mouth of the Tahquamenon River. A fun run for amateur paddlers is also offered. MCRA members conclude the event with a banquet and awards program.
