Over 50 sled dog teams expected in the following race categories: 12 Dog Pro-class, 8 Dog Pro-Class, 6 Dog-sport, 6 Dog Pure-breed, 4 Dog Sport, Skijoring, 2-3 Dog youth races. Spectators are free and can watch the race start and finish at Rainbow Lodge. Another good viewing spot is where the race course crosses CR414.

2014 Will be the 75th Anniversary Ski Jump Tournament. Stayed tuned for updates and special events associated with this special event.
Pine Mountain Ski Jump hosts world class athletes from all over the world in this Continental Cup competition. Official practice runs are on Friday with competition jumps on Saturday and Sunday. Join thousands of fans at the bottom of the hill for the largest tailgate party of the winter!!
22nd Annual Long Riders Relic Ride
Pre-registration Friday, February the 7th at 7pm at the Jack Pine Lodge. Final registration Saturday, February 8th open at 8am. Ride starts at 11am finishing at 3pm. Five Dollar donation, all proceeds go to non profit. Jack Pine Lodge will be having a Breakfast special that is open to the public, will be selling event T-shirts, with multiple raffles all day long. Contest trophies will be awarded in three categories: ugliest sled, loudest pipes and vintage clothing.

Snowsfest - Les Cheneaux Islands
Join us for our 53rd year of Snowsfest!
UP 200 and Midnight Run
The UP200 is one of America’s premier 12-dog, mid-distance sled dog races and draws mushers from around the United States and Canada. The UP200 is an Iditarod qualifying race.
Coinciding with the UP200 is the eight-dog Midnight Run, a race from Marquette to Munising, Michigan with a checkpoint in Chatham. The Midnight Run, or MNR, draws premier teams wanting to test their skill on a technically challenging trail.
The JackPine 30 rounds out the weekend’s fun with a six-dog, 30-mile sprint from Gwinn, Michigan to Marquette.

22nd Top of the Lake Snowmobile Show & Ride
22nd Annual weekend of fun with the old sleds in Naubinway, MI, 45 miles west of the Mackinac Bridge on US 2 in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Friday – 8am till 10am – Breakfast at the Naubinway Pavilion (across from the Museum), sponsored by the Top of the Lake Communities Assoc.
Friday – 10:00am - Bonfire ride leaving from the Pavilion. Ride 12 miles for a hot dog/brats/marshmallow roast, an eventful afternoon with lots of "sled talk" plus a guided ride through the woods on private trails, just like the good-old-days. All snowmobiles & riders are welcome.
Friday – 4:00-8:00pm – Get-together at the Hiawatha Club Recreation Building. Gather there with your fellow snowmobilers to discuss your adventures of the day, or anything else. Enjoy some chili, desserts, snacks and the friendly exchange of stories and help promote the Hiawatha Club and the Museum.
Saturday - 10am-3pm. Display of all sleds in downtown Naubinway. Free registration will be at the Snowmobile Museum, 2 blocks south of US 2. Bring whatever you have. This is a fun event, no trophys. We do award a plaque for Favorite Featured Sled Sat. night.
Banquet from 4:30-6:00 at the Engadine Town Hall with a presentation on the featured sled (Skiroule), raffle drawings and an auction, with the proceeds going to the Top of the Lake Museum Building Fund. We would appreciate any donations for the auction. All donations are tax deductible.
Labatt Blue UP Pond Hockey Championship
Join us in St. Ignace, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, home of one of the largest pond hockey tournaments in North America, and the largest tournament in Michigan.
The Labatt Blue UP Pond Hockey Championship will be played on Moran Bay, part of beautiful Lake Huron!
In 2013 we had 172 seven-person teams from a dozen states. We have several age and skill divisions, so your team can compete against others of the same skill level.
Format of the games is: 4 on 4 hockey with NO GOALIES on twenty-seven 75 'x 150' outside rinks with snow bank boards played on the 'wild ice' of Moran Bay in Lake Huron.
Teams are guaranteed three games, and division winners will receive Labatt's sportsgear and a hardwood championship cup.

I.S.O.C. MXR(Michigan Extreme Racing) Manistique Snow X
I.S.O.C. MXR(Michigan Extreme Racing) Manistique Snow X registration is on Friday February 28, 2014 starting at 7pm. Racing starts on Saturday, March 01, 2014, 09:00am until done. Then continue into Sunday, March 02, 2014. Come watch them fly!!!
The MXR (Michigan Extreme Racing) only holds this one event in the U.P. and it is held here in Manistique on US Hwy 2. All other races are in the Lower Peninsula. We will be having food, a warming tent, and other activities, more details coming soon. This is a very exciting sport to watch. The sleds fly over large hills built on the oval track. You must see it to really feel the excitement. Come on out to experience the Manistique MXR Snow X Festival on US HWY 2 across from Lakeshore Shell.
This is the final race for the year for the MXR. Exciting racers who are Pro, Semi Pro, all the way down to the younger racers. Registration is on Friday, February 28, 2014. Main races start at 9am Saturday.

All ages ice-fishing derby based in Cedarville. Warm-up tent, skating pond, food and fish weigh-in all on the ice of Munuscong Bay.
Porcupine Mountains Snowshoe Race
34th Annual Portage Health Great Bear Chase Ski Marathon/Junior Bear Chase
26k and 50k classic and free style cross country ski races, the Junior Bear Chase, the 14k freestyle race and the Bear Chase snow bike race start and finish near downtown Calumet. The 25k snow bike race will be the Midwest Snow Bike Championship.
Friday night the Swedetown Trails are going to the next generation as the Copper Country Ski Tigers host the annual Junior Bear Chase. Registration/Bib Pick-Up is from 4 to 4:30 p.m. and kids under 16 can compete in races from 4 km to 1 km. It’s $7 to participant with funds going to the Ski Tigers.

18th Annual Antiques on the Bay Classic & Antique Car Show
The first of three auto-related events, this show features original and restored classic and antique vehicles on display along the downtown waterfront. Cars must be all original vehicles 25 years old or older. Period clothing, entertainment, and a Mackinac Bridge rally all add to the festivities.
39th Annual St Ignace Car Show Weekend
One of the largest all-make, all-model shows in the country! Hundreds of antique, custom and celebrity automobiles take part in this internationally acclaimed event. Parades, cruises, awards, and more!
This event begins with the Kewadin Casino Cruise Night on Thursday, June 26, at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Down Memory Lane Parade on Friday, June 27, at 7:00 p.m. Cars will be on display in the downtown area all day Saturday, June 28.

4th of July Celebration - Lake Linden
The Village of Lake Linden will have their fireworks display on Tuesday, July 3 at dusk in the village park. Live music, food and refreshments will be available in the park from 6:30 to 10:30 pm.
On Wednesday, July 4 there will be a parade at 9:30 am with live music, activities, games, races, food & refreshments at the Park throughout the day. The Children's Parade begins at 6:30 and there will be a street dance at the Lakes Lounge from 6 to 10 pm with live music.
Dollar Bay 4th of July
The community of Dollar Bay starts off its 4th of July celebration on Tuesday, July 3 with free horse & wagon rides at 6 pm and a street dance at 7:30 pm. Snacks and refreshments will be available at the fire hall starting at 6:30. On Wednesday, July 4 the VFW Memorial Service takes place at 11 am followed by the parade at noon. Children's games will begin at 1:30 pm behind the fire hall and the Franz Family Ministries will perform at 2 pm at Pioneer Park. The snack & refreshment stand, the pasty sale and the chicken BBQ all begin at 10:30.

4th of July - Gay
The community of Gay, MI will hold its 31st Annual Parade at 2 pm on Wednesday, July 4 with a Bazaar/Rummage Sale/Raffle/Social Hour at the Gay Community Hall from noon to 4 pm. The Gay Fire Department will have hot dogs, liquid refreshments and a raffle on the Gay School grounds from noon to 3 pm.
4th of July - Hubbell/Tamarack/Mason
Hubbell, Tamarack and Mason will have their 4th of July parade at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 4 starting at Peninsula Copper Industries. Games for the kids will be held at 1 pm at the Lake Front Park in Hubbell and the fire hall in Tamarack. Hubbell will have music in the park beginning at 4 pm.
4th of July - Mohawk
The community of Mohawk will begins its 4th of July celebration with a flag raising at 10 am at the Allouez Township Park on US-41 followed by the children's parade at 10:30. There will be children's games, food and treats in the park from noon to 2 pm.

The Village of Ahmeek will celebrate the 4th of July on Wednesday, July 4th beginning with the bicycle parade at 11 am followed by activities and concessions at the Gabe Chopp Park off US-41 throughout the day. There will be children's games, a penny toss, watermelon eating contest, raffle drawing, bingo, food and refreshments and live music.
Manistique Independence Day Celebration
Parade starts on Deer Street traveling through to downtown Cedar Street at 12:30pm. Community Lake Effect Arts- Art & Craft Fair starts at 10:00am-4:00pm at the Manistique Central Park located near the Little Bear West Arena. Fireworks at dusk approximately 10:30.

Schoolcraft County Chamber of Commerce 25th Annual Folkfest 2014 is a celebration of life that takes place the 2nd Saturday in July on the main street of Manistique. Art & Craft Booths display their diverse wares over two blocks while the aromas of Multicultural Food Booths tempt the participants down the street. The central stage provides ethnic music & entertainment with the Beer Garden close by. The Children have their own street, which supplies the young with extra fun. Folkfest is truly an event for everyone. Friday night Pet Parade(5:30pm), then Street Dance, Beer Garden, some food vendors until 12:30 am. Saturday starts at 10am opening ceremony, then all day into the evening until 12:30 a.m. Great Fun!

The 38th Annual Canal Run includes a 10 mile run and a 10 mile competitive walk from McLain State Park to Hancock and is set for Saturday, July 19. The run begins at 8 am at McLain State Park on M-203 west of Hancock. The walk begins at 7 am. T-shirts will be provided to all participants with medals and trophies awarded to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners.

3rd Annual Manistique Paul Bunyan Triathlon
City of Manistique Recreation Department is proud to present the 3rd Annual Manistique Paul Bunyan Triathlon. The race will consist of a 400 meter swim in the Quarry, a 15 mile bike ride, and a 5k run. All portions of the race will be within the city limit. All participants who finish will receive a Finisher's Medal. The awards to be presented will be 1st & 2nd place- top male, top female, age groups (by 10 yrs). Teams are encouraged consisting of 2-3 members- all male, all female or both. Come out for the challenge or to cheer on your favorite team or person.

39th Annual UP Steam and Gas Engine Show
57th Annual Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk
Join thousands of walkers and make the five-mile trek across the Mighty Mackinac Bridge! This annual trek occurs on Labor Day, the only day of the year pedestrians are allowed on the bridge. Walkers begin in St. Ignace at the north end of the Bridge and walk south. The walk is one-way, and bus transportation is available to return you to St. Ignace until 2:30 p.m. The walk begins at 7:00 a.m. No one will be permitted to start walking after 11:00 a.m.
To alleviate some of the parking congestion at the Bridge View Park area, the Mackinac Bridge Authority, in cooperation with the St. Ignace Chamber of Commerce, is providing FREE shuttle from Little Bear East Arena, 275 Marquette Street in St. Ignace, to the bridge walk start line. Shuttles will make continuous circuits from Little Bear East Arena to the Bridge View Park and back between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. www.stignace.com

Tahquamenon Wilderness Canoe Race
"The Great Race from the Lower Falls to Lake Superior" Start the morning with this 17 1/2 mile, two-person professional canoe race as the paddlers brave the waters of the Tahquamenon River from the Lower Tahquamenon Falls to Lake Superior. A shorter (6 1/2 mile) one-person race begins at 3:30 at the mouth of the Tahquamenon River. A fun run for amateur paddlers is also offered. MCRA members conclude the event with a banquet and awards program.
