Let's show our JEEP™ pride! We had 791 JEEPS™ registered for 2018! Let's beat that number this year! It was an amazing display to see all the Jeeps make the Mackinac Bridge crossing. We hope to see you in 2019! ​There will be a welcome party in St. Ignace, trails to ride on Drummond Island, lunch available on Drummond Island, and prizes at both Awards Ceremonies. Drummond Island is hosting a “Bash” celebrating the “Spring JEEP™ Migration”. This family friendly, fun for all ages, event will have live entertainment, bonfire, games, prizes, beer tent, JEEP™ awards and MUCH more! A scavenger hunt can be incorporated into any of your trail route options. JEEP™ only. JEEP™ must be licensed and street legal. Tire size cannot exceed 40".

The 2019 Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s National Team Championship will be held on the legendary St. Marys River out of the historic and fishing-friendly border city of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, May 30 – June 1, 2019. Timed to coincide with some of the St. Marys River’s best walleye fishing for numbers and trophy-sized fish, the event will also offer walleye fans from coast to coast a chance to compete for thousands in cash and prizes. The Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s NTC is widely considered the walleye world’s premier grassroots championship. The last weekend in June has something for everyone: spectacular vistas, unbridled power, and so much more. Best of all, it’s your once-per-year chance to sneak a peek behind the scenes at the Soo Locks. It’s the event that started it all – the one day when you can walk across the mighty Soo Locks walls and explore the buildings and special exhibits open only on this day – the last Friday in June. Engineer’s Day festivities are held from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The gates are open to allow visitors to explore on their own self-guided tours across the Locks and into historically important structures (Davis Building and the Administration Building) used solely for the work of one of the world’s busiest lock systems.

Rendezvous at the Straits Powwow

A Rendezvous at the Straits French Voyager Reenactment and Pow Wow, a family event celebrating the history of the St. Ignace area, will take place Friday August 23, through Sunday August 25, 2019 at the Father Marquette National Memorial just off US-2 west of I-75 in St. Ignace. Admission is $4.00 for Elders, children 5 and under are free, and $5.00 for everyone else. This is really two events in one -- part French voyager re-enactment and part traditional Powwow. Visit the French encampments, watch demonstrations, visit vendors displaying authentic wares, and enjoy the sights and sounds of Native dancing and drumming ceremonies. Traditional Native American food will be available. Grand Entrance will be at 12:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. This family event is to be alcohol and drug free. It is sponsored by the St. Ignace Events Committee, the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, the Michilimackinac Historical Society, and Kewadin Casinos.

Tahquamenon Wilderness Canoe Race

The GREAT RACE from the Lower Falls to Lake Superior; Start the morning with this 17 1/2 mile, two-person professional canoe race as the paddlers brave the waters of the Tahquamenon River from the Lower Tahquamenon Falls to Lake Superior. A shorter (6 1/2 mile) one-person race begins at 3:30 at the mouth of the Tahquamenon River. A fun run for amateur paddlers is also offered. MCRA members conclude the event with a banquet and awards program.
