Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum
You're invited to explore the haunting world of Lake Superior shipwrecks. From the wreck of the schooner "Invincible" in 1816, to the wreck of the "Edmund Fitzgerald" in 1975... Lake Superior has shown it can be one of the most dangerous bodies of water on earth. Experience the gripping tales of ships and men who braved Superior's cold deep waters and violent raging storms. In addition to these dramatic "you-are-there" exhibits, the museum theater features spellbinding underwater films of shipwreck discoveries... seen as they lie today beneath Lake Superior's rolling waves. The Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum is located at historic Whitefish Point, "Graveyard of the Great Lakes," and the site of Lake Superior's first lighthouse.
