Established in 1954, the Hall of Fame today honors more than 350 men and women whose contributions and achievements have enriched the sport of skiing. To visit the Hall, take US-41 west from Marquette, Michigan, to Ishpeming. Donations requested.
Features include:
(1) Roland Palmedo Research Ski Library;
(2) The Birkebeiner, Norwegian Ski Legend display based on Norwegian artist Larson painting depicting the life saving incident of young prince Hakon Hakonsson in the year of 1206;
(3) Modern Ski Warfare and Soviet/Finnish War; and
(4) Uphill lifts display beginning with early rope tows to more modern gondola lifts.
Many other museums curios depicting the history of skiing.
Open 10am to 5pm, Mon.-Sat., year round.
