AAA Michigan Report
Anglers will find some awesome fishing as the month of August progresses. Angling activity is rated good statewide according to AAA Michigan.
Off of the Marquette area lake trout action has improved in 120-150 feet of water and a few salmon are being caught in shallower waters. Around the Escanaba area the pike activity is good on spoons. The Escanaba River is good for small mouth bass on stick and tube baits in 15 feet of water. Around Cedarville perch action is good in 9-15 feet of water and out in the Bay pike fishing is very good. St. Ignace anglers are doing well on Chinook with spoons. Good walleye action on the St. Mary’s River in 6 feet of water on crank baits. Fish in the morning near the weed edge.
