This time of year, our waterfalls quietly whisper in their frozen state in March, then roar to life by early April. If you haven’t seen our waterfalls before the thaw, come up now. Some favorites are:

Tahquamenon Falls, Paradise; Manabezho Falls, Porcupine Mountains State Park; Little Trap Falls, Silver City; and Munising Falls, Munising.

Once the snowmelt is underway, the roaring starts. In addition to the falls listed above, hike in to see and hear:

Bond Falls, Paulding; Canyon Falls, L’Anse; Hungarian Falls, Lake Linden; Rock River Falls, Marquette; Sable Falls, Grand Marais; and Wagner Falls, Munising.

While you’re here, let the water do the rushing, not you. Build in time to see each fall, before moving on to the next one. Rates at U.P. hotels and lodgings are now at some of their best prices, so stretch your tour over a few days.
