  • Horseshoe Falls — A privately owned, spring-fed cascade that is open to the public for a small fee. Visitors can feed rainbow trout and ducks, explore a botanical garden, enjoy a gnome scavenger hunt or bring a picnic and relax by the falls.

A 1.5-mile ADA-accessible Gateway Loop connects the system, with optional singletrack routes like Mountain Goat and the downhill flow trail, Flow & Steady. Amenities include a trailhead with a bike repair station, picnic area, kiosk and pit toilet.
  • Munising Range Lights — Established in 1908 to guide ships through the narrow East Channel into Munising Bay, these twin range lights still serve as active navigational aids. The 58-foot front light aligns with the rear light to create precise focal planes above Lake Superior. While the tower is closed, visitors can explore the surrounding grounds and view the historic brick keeper’s building.
  • Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore — Feel overwhelming awe and wonder as you enter this national park. The mineral-stained sandstone cliffs and Caribbean-blue Lake Superior stretch 42 miles between Munising and Grand Marais. A geological masterpiece, its ancient spell has captivated millions of visitors from the Upper Peninsula’s first inhabitants to you. It inspires you to climb towering dunes, chase waterfalls and venture deeper into the wild forests, swamps and meadows.
Enter the past at historic lighthouses, the ruins of a Civil War-era blast furnace and an old logging chute that once sent massive logs to the freshwater sea.  Silently watch and listen for birds and elusive wildlife whose ancestors have called this home for millennia. Few places ignite a passion for preserving nature and our human history like this place.
  • Sand Point Beach — Soft sand and crystal-clear water, just a short drive from downtown and home to the Sand Point Marsh Trail, one of the best birding spots in Alger County. Swimmers often find the shallow bay water warmer than other lakeshore beaches.
